Establish First. Graze Afterward.
Newly seeded pasture should be given time to establish adequate roots and vegetative growth before livestock are introduced. Once established, rotational grazing can provide recovery periods between grazing events.
Pasture Management Note: Pasture performance varies with irrigation, soil fertility, planting timing, grazing pressure, stocking rate and local growing conditions. New plantings should be well established before grazing begins.
